What unfolds when design students dive into the celebration rituals of cultures different from their own?
For this project, students were asked to choose a celebration ritual from another culture. After conducting in-depth ethnographic research, they created two posters representing these rituals from both an etic (outsider) and emic (insider) perspective.
This immersive journey allowed students to explore and share the unique elements of these rituals, sparking thoughtful reflections on cultural practices and traditions. It wasn't just about creating posters; it was about broadening perspectives, understanding diverse cultural expressions, and fostering meaningful connections.
