What unfolds when design students collaborate on a podcast aimed at rethinking how we understand and challenge American history?
The project partner and client of the podcast Reconsider Everything: The American History Project does exactly that. This social media campaign, envisioned by students from Herron's Cross-Cultural Design class, uncovers the stories of Indigenous and Hawaiian communities—stories that mainstream education leaves in the dark.

Through powerful visual storytelling and guest voices reflecting on their cultural misrepresentation in U.S. schools, the project stirs a conversation that has long been avoided. It’s not just about creating designs—it’s about shifting perspectives and building a movement, with future expansions into media like documentaries and social campaigns on the horizon.
The client used these designs on their social media to not only promote their podcast series but also to deepen the conversation around these important topics, extending their reach and impact through further campaigns.

Twenty undergraduate students at Herron School of Art and Design created individual campaigns for this project. Featured designs on this website include work by Marissa Eckert, Alli Kraus, Ria Vavhal, Brianna Weiss, Michael Surridge, and Kyle Battin and Maddie Pence.
