Connecting Distances is a cross-cultural project created by two professors at Herron School of Art and Design. It fosters creative exploration, communication, and fabrication through virtual immersion, bridging college classrooms across several countries. By promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, this digital collaboration framework encourages meaningful international connections. The project demonstrates how Virtual Global Learning Exchanges (VGLEs) can seamlessly integrate into foundational art and design curriculums, nurturing global perspectives within our community.
Current partnerships include faculty from Yonsei University in South Korea and the Technical University of Applied Sciences (THWS) in Würzburg, Germany. As the project continues to grow, it remains open to collaboration with educators worldwide.
